Prairie Books is a small independent publisher located in Southwest Kansas.
My mission is to keep the history of our area alive. Cimarron Chronicles was my first
endeavor, soon followed by Trails South by C. Robert Haywood, a book that had been out of
print for some time. My newest title is Fifty Years on the Owl Hoot Trail by Harry Chrisman, another
book important to our history and out of print for too long. I also self-publish my own book,
The Dalton Gang and Their Family Ties, all about the Dalton Gang Hideout and Eva Dalton's life in Meade, Kansas.
Recently I have created E-books on CD's of two old Meade County books: Frank Sullivan's History of Meade County
and the 1909 Meade County Plat Book... great reference material for Meade County.
We also sell titles by other publishers in our on-line retail store,
specializing in history of Southwest Kansas and the Oklahoma Panhandle.
